At approximately 1345 today our squad was activated to assist with a person who had managed to get their fingers stuck in the winch on their 4wd near Abernethy.
Working in conjunction with NSW Ambulance our volunteers set about freeing the man from the predicament he was in.
The winch rope was cut on the spool to allow the man’s crushed fingers to be released.
He was transported via NSW Ambulance 4wd to hospital for further treatment on his severely damaged fingers.
Our team then remained on scene to recover the man’s vehicle, which was stuck in some pretty deep mud.
Our volunteers in their used to be “white” overalls managed to retrieve the vehicle so it could be taken from the scene.
