BIG CHOP: Year 2 student Ryleigh Cockerill cut off her thigh-length hair so it could be donated and turned into a wig for cancer and alopecia sufferers.

An Abermain Holy Spirit Infants student used her head and her heart recently to make an important charitable contribution.

Year 2 student Rhyleigh Cockerill cut her thigh-length hair to raise money for Variety. She had been growing her locks for the past four years for Variety’s Hair with Heart project.

Her hair will be made into a wig for someone who has lost their hair due to medical conditions such as alopecia or cancer. These conditions have personally touched Rhyleigh and her family and she wanted to make a difference for the brave girls and boys battling them.
